"Empowering Women & Girls in Bwindi, Uganda"

Bwindi Women Arise ( BWA) is a community based non profit initiative located in Nkuringo-Bwindi, on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in South Western Uganda.

The Bwindi Women Arise was founded by John Katutsi and his wife Annah Aminah Nahabwe,  to empower local women and girls who face daily struggles marked by poverty, limited opportunities, and societal constraints.

Bwindi Women Arise strives to empower these women and girls facing extreme poverty, HIV, widowhood, single motherhood, domestic violence and girls who dropped out of school, or faced early pregnancy through practical programs like Tailoring, Weaving, Hair dressing, Sustainable farming, and access to village saving groups etc.

The goal is to  enhance women and girls quality of life through vocational skills development, financial independence and knowledge acquisition.
